The current Arvada Center production of Death Takes a Holiday floats on a buoyant tide of lush and often very lovely music, the voices assembled by director Rod A. Lansberry are superb. James Van Treuren is a delightful Baron Dario Albione, delightfully matched by Erica Sarzin-Borrillo’s Contessa Evangelina in the wistful duet “September Time”.

Yeston’s music is beautiful. “December Time” is a lilting duet by Erica Sarzin-Borrillo and James Van Treuren as an aging Baron and Contessa, coming to terms with growing older.

There's as endearing subplot between the aging Baron Dario Albione (James Van Treuren) and his lifelong love Contessa Evangelina Di San Danielli (Erica Sarzin-Borrillo).
